My main reason for upgrading from cheap plastic storage containers to glass was to avoid the staining of the plastic by things like pasta or chili-style dishes. Clearly, (no pun) the glass containers will not do that, and I can’t think of a better brand name than Pyrex. The sturdiness of the plastic lids attests to the quality. Freezer or microwave, no problem.
In the past, I’ve destroyed some Pyrex ‘pie’ style plates by running cold water on very hot plates, so I know to allow glass items to cool a bit before placing them in the sink to wash. I don’t consider that to be a negative, just a learning curve thing.
I LOVE this set! I actually bought two more sets to gift for the holidays. It doesn’t stain or smell like plastic food containers, looks far nicer when bringing dishes to potluck, and even looks nice in the fridge. I love that they’re clear so I can see our leftovers clearly in the fridge.
