I love these sets by M&D because they really spark the imagination. My 3.5-year-old son loves the barista set so I was excited to give him this bakery one. He enjoys it a lot, but I found that his little friends who are 5 year olds really, really love playing with this when they come over. I think it’s excellent for older toddlers, but truly appreciated by 4+.
It is a big set, but definitely something that will need to be propped up on a table or bench. The cash register swivels around to accommodate both the child behind the register and the person “buying” the goods. Set up was quick and easy and took zero thought process. I love how well-made all these wooden items are- it’s a set that will last if taken care of.
What a fantastic toy set. Quality wood and finish, sturdy construction, and great craftsmanship. If you’re worried about splinters or your little one eating paint and getting sick, don’t. They do it right at Melissa and Doug and the quality reflects that. This set provides hours of fun to a wide range of ages without screens or power cords. It’s glorious.
My 5 year old is all about pretend play and he flipped out over this. He loves everything from putting the little desserts together, to the adorable register with its own little credit card. Very durable and holds up to the wild ones well.
